First got start at age 13 just doing beginner lifting at Planet Fitness. Started working out seriously cuz I wanted to play football in high school and obviously needed to get bigger and stronger.
Kept with it in college to a degree to stay in shape but now want to be in best shape of my life!
Why I Love It:
For the feeling you have the day after a great workout, knowing what you've accomplish and what awaits you in the future. Plus having someone say you look like you've been working out and they see a difference.
How I Stay Motivated:
Through music among other things.
BB Accomplishments:
Dropped 22lbs in the Fall of 2007 and kept it off finally!
Do you track your workouts (exercises, weight, reps, etc.)?
Yes
If so, how do you do it? Workout log, software program, etc.? Why do you do it this way?
I do it through many ways from logging my workouts in my iTouch during workouts then transferring that info to my bodyspace workout tracker when i return. also being prepared for the next days workout can keep things organized for me.I do it through many ways from logging my workouts in my iTouch during workouts then transferring that info to my bodyspace workout tracker when i return. also being prepared for the next days workout...more

Do you tell your friends and/or family about your fitness goals?
Yes
Why or why not?
because it helps to motivate me to have others supporting me. My roommate and I are easily motivated by each others' success so it keeps us pushing ourselves!

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
look at short-term goals to keep you going. looking too far forward can kill your motivation. also create a good support circle of friends/family who can keep you motivated through advise, comments, etc.look at short-term goals to keep you going. looking too far forward can kill your motivation. also create a good support circle of friends/family who can keep you motivated through advise, comments, ...more
so it's been a while since I've been on here but i thought it was time to get back at it since I've been hearing great things from people. I've dropped about 17 Lbs. in the last 2 plus months thanks to working for the women's basketball team here at UNH! I've been feeling great and...
If you keep doing the right thing over and over again bro, it is pretty amazing the things that unfold. Good to hear there is a tad of competition going there with the roommate. That can only help.
The fight continues ... adding a lot of old school moves to the workout of late: Squats, lots of pull ups and weighted dips. Continuing the quest for mass while continuing to work on the core strength. New: Swimming! There is no cardio workout I have ever done that gives me an upper body pump like a few hundred yards of freestyle. Nice! Forget the fancy machines ... the pool is the way to go. Continue to be relentless bro.
Hey BD ... the lbs are coming off bro. Most impressive. That's gotta feel good! Practice player for a woman's B-ball team - sounds like a pretty cool gig! Keep it going and keep that diet and workout dialed. There is some room on that frame for mass. Be relentless!
Things are going well... doing a 5x5 workout at present [heavy - 5 sets for five reps]. Most impressed with the new soreness inflicted. It is kind of weird when you get to the point where you don't feel right unless you ar sore as hell, eh?
Keep at it bro and we'll see how your looking down the road. As far as the workout partner goes, just keep your eye balls pealed. You'll come across someone at some point. You may notice someone that seems to be in the gym the same time as you, doing some similar things -- take a chance, strike up a convo. You might find they were wishing they had someone to work with them too. Train hard dude!
Keep at it! Things are a changing, but you may want to slow up on taking pics to just once a month or even every other month. If you space them out more, I have found the motivation is higher and the results are much more encouraging. Think big and train insane bro!
