When I Started:
How I Started:
My Dad introduced me to weight-training when I was thirteen. He showed me the bread-and-butter of lifting weights.. most importantly, FORM. Fortunately, I got started off on the right foot.
Why I Love It:
I love the challenge of working out. I love seeing my legs shake while I push up that one last excruciatingly painful repetition. I love the satisfaction I feel when I leave the gym, and cannot wait to return the next day.
How I Stay Motivated:
I am motivated by the healthy lifestyle. I have watched enough documentaries, read enough magazines, and seen enough Biggest Loser episodes to keep myself in check.

Gain Muscle
Goal (Overall):
My goal is simple. Gain 25 pounds in 12 months.
Goal (Long):
Over the last couple of years, I have dedicated time to learning about the nutritional side of bodybuilding. I have come to realize that you have to put as much focus/dedication outside the gym as you do in it. My goal is to pack on a solid 25 pounds over the course of the next year. If I make it, fantastic, but if I don't, I'll keep training until I get there. "The Iron never lies to you. You can walk outside and listen to all kinds of talk, get told that you're a god or a total bastard. The Iron will always kick you the real deal. The Iron is the great reference point, the all-knowing perspective giver. Always there like a beacon in the pitch black. I have found the Iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds". - Henry Rollins

What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
I'm not opposed to it as long as it isn't over-the-top. Yes I grunt, but its minimal, or maybe my IPOD is turned up to loud =>

What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
Most importantly, BE CONSISTENT. Understand that you need to find what works best for you. You can ask a thousand people about nutrition and training and get a different answer every time.

What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
I didn't monitor my nutrition.. I didn't understand how drinking soda and eating fast food affected my workout and performance in sports.
