Contest History
Organization:
Contest: Indiana State Benchpress/Deadlift Championships
Date: Aug 16, 2008
Location: Indiana, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Other
Bodyweight: 181 lb (82.3 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: First meet after two years away from lifting. I opened with 405 and it was an easy bench. 415 wouldn't touch on the 2nd, and 425 on the third was just a wee bit shy. I'm just glad to be back and I didn't hurt myself. State record for Police/Fire Master's 181.
Organization:
Contest: APF/AAPF Detroit Barbell Open
Date: Aug 26, 2006
Location: Michigan, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Other
Bodyweight: 165 lb (75.0 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: I cut 13 lbs. for this meet so I could qualify WPO for the Arnold. Unfortunately my shoulder fell apart and my total was waaaay down. I still broke the national record in the drug tested division and got best lifter overall, but that was a consolation prize next to failed lifts and surgery!!!

A good learning experience overall.

Comments: IPF rules, my first powerlifting contest. It was a push/pull in front of several hundred spectators. The atmosphere was great. Rules were super strict, judges were international pros. After straining both pecs a few days before I had to rely on my last deadlift, my first 500 pound lift, to win by 5 pounds! Established a world record for my event that still stands...so far!
