When I Started:
May, 2006
How I Started:
Mainly concerned about health, in particular weight-related issues that came up. Became interested in weight loss and muscle building as a result.
Why I Love It:
The best start of the day! More energy after an hour-long workout. Prepares for meeting the day's challenges. Like seeing the progress and changes. Seems to be a part of my life now. It bothers me when I can't or don't workout.
How I Stay Motivated:
Self-motivated and goal-oriented. Encourgement and comments from family, friends, other people, and BB.com posters has helped very much. A lot of people who know me well, but haven't seen me in awhile claim not to have recognized me or have to take a 2nd look. I don't think I look that different, but guess so.
BB Accomplishments:
See some definition in arms, legs, chest, back. Weight loss and muscle building are becoming evident since May 2007 when the 1st BFL challenge was completed.
Need a good home-based workout routine for awhile. Need a jumpstart on training and eating clean.
Goal (Long):
To be within the normal BMI range for my height, losing fat and building muscle. Short term goal: lose 50 lbs. Improve to be able to take my shirt off. To show others that it can be done and be a motivator and encourager for them.
This member was the 2nd person to befriend me on BS. He reminds me in some ways of myself, but you'd have to read his story. He has taken the time to work on his goals with the science part of working out and nutrition - with awesome results. Always willing to share and writes some interesting blogs. I'm going to be like him when I grow up - lol.
Joe always talks me through it and encourages me to continue. He's been through a rough time if you read his story, but has emerged with remarkable results and a Transformation of the Week. Thanks, J!
The good news: Medical report from recent physical was great! Bad news: Weight is fluctuating 10 lbs. on a regular basis - tired of losing and gaining the same 10 lbs. I know that the eating is the biggest problem. Workouts still consistent at least 3-5 times per week. I...
Doing just general weightlifting on dumbells, gym machines, and a friend's backyard equipment in May 2006 - no specific program or routine. Joined a gym in July after friend relocated. Looked at Men's Health/Muscle & Fitness mags. Went on a crash of something I read and stopped buying...
I haven't checked in with you in quite some time - I hope your 2010 is off to a great start. Let's make this the best year yet in terms of personal body transformation at least. Good luck and best wishes as always!
