Physically: Through sports and an athletic upbringing.
Psychologically: Probably through action movies from the 80s ad 90s (Arnold and especially Van Damme were aesthetic role models for me).
Why I Love It:
Since day one I've had a desire to see how far I can take my body naturally. I'm genuinely curious to see what my genetic potential looks like.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing the success made by natural bodybuilders. Setting small goals and keeping a vision of a long-term goal. Making strength gains a priority but also changing up my workout routine every now and then to keep things interesting. Staying relatively lean (I like to have some ab definition year round). My girlfriend is also incredibly supportive with the dieting. And my training partner, Timberwolf, is insane and always a source of motivation in the gym.
Suppose for the sake of argument that someone really discovered the best workout routine. Say it was backed up by years of scientific research and first-hand experience. It guarantees the best possible results — for everyone. But there’s one catch: It’s as boring as hell.
gotta give you props on the avi man. simply shredded. also give you thanks on the arm routine you gave me. i've been making some gains with the guns. thanks brother.
Hey hows it going! I'm just starting to lift and gain more muscle. As of now, i work out 4-6 times a week and I do ALOT of cardio. I've heard cardio reduces body mass, but im not working out to get massive, I just want to gain about 10-25 lbs of pure muscle for my sport, karate.
Hey, i just wanted to thank you for your awsome work out logs. They are very detailed and have a great deal of information on dieting, which inspired me to create my own work out logs. Thank you Ascent!
I really don't stick to a certain offseason diet. I focus on lifting heavy on the Big 3, squats, bench & deads. Ad far as the diet goes I don't count but I up my protein & carbs. I keep my fats low to moderate. I guess I should start couting my protein & carb intake during the offseason.

Thanks Bro. Have a great weekend. Is it cold in Canada yet? I was out there in April, wasn't that cold but was kinda rainy. I flew into Toronto & drove to Ontario. I enjoyed my brief stay.
