Taken the same day as my other 2006 vacation photo, it shows me giving a smooch to my then-girlfriend (now ex). Rarely do we see our own profile shot, and what a shock it was for me to see that not only did I have a double-chin, but also no more jaw-line and no neck!

This photo was taken as a visual baseline prior to training for the Mr. Fort Stewart body building competition in Georgia for Army Soldiers. Because the competition, originally scheduled for Oct 08, was postponed another 2 months, I wasn't able to compete due to my transfer to Ft. Sam Houston, TX, this past November.

This is the photo that convinced me that I should practice what I preach as a registered dietitian. I looked like the majority of my patients who see me for weight loss. I was the heaviest I've ever been at 189 pounds, 37" waist, 23% body fat and 30 BMI (technically obese)!

This photo was taken 2 months after my 2006 vacation photo when I decided to lose weight once and for all. I'm 20 pounds lighter and already proud of my accomplishment. But I knew that I had about another 20 more pounds to go to get the results I wanted and a BMI of under 25.

This photo was taken at a beach house while on vacation again exactly 6 months from the previous vacation photos when I was at my heaviest.

Although it took me just 5 months to drop 40 pounds, this photo taken a year later shows that I kept the weight off with running and weight lifting.
