I started in highschool due to my small stature...picking on the big kids at the table was a highlight. I started like anyone, pulling on the desks in the classroom hurting my elbows and kicking some butt. In July 2000, I competed in my first competition and was hooked from then on.
Why I Love It:
Its a great accomplishement reaching goals you set out for yourself. I was headed in a bad direction as a teen and Arm-Wrestling took me out of that rut. I owe a lot to this sport! The people I have met in this sport across the World are amazing. I can't believe the level of comrodery in an individualy based sport. This sport is built on a lot of heart, respect and determination.
How I Stay Motivated:
The challenge...if your not challenged your not motivated...I love being nervous for every match to the point where I almost throw up...That means I'm in the right class and pulling the right people...Teaching people with the knowledge that I have gained throughout the years is a great reward.
BB Accomplishments:
Armwrestling Accomplishments
6-time National Champion
5-time Provincial Champion
2-time Atlantic Canadian Champion
4th place finish at 2005 World Champions

360lb Strong Hand Hold Record - 1min28sec @ 117lb body weight
To be the BEST Arm-Wrestler my body will let me be!
Goal (Long):
My training is based around my weaknesses on the table. If I can capatalize on those, I will gain the upper hand and be a step closer to where I want to be...#1. This year I want to focus on my hand and wrist control at the table...If you can take the hand, you can take the arm...You take the arm, and you take the trophy!!! I plan on switching the sequences of my lifts in order to shock my muscles. My goal weight for the year will be 150lbs with the ability to diet down for the 143lb weight class at Nationals
I am currently doing a 5x5 program to increase size and strength. I generally switch my sets per reps every so often so my body doesnt get custom to certain exercises.

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
depending on the reps per set that I am doing or the phase of training I am in. I would say anywhere from 45 sec to 2 min.

Which pro bodybuilder/fitness/figure competitor has the ideal physique? Why?
Frank Zane...for a smaller frame, this guy showed determination to transform his body to one of the top recognized people in bodybuilding history
I finally have a supermatch with one of the most dominating lightweights in Canada...I have been in Armwretsling for over 5 years now and finally got my 1st and only right handed win against Artie in Sept 2007 at the Canadian Nationals...H has lost the intimidation factor on me now with that...
Thanks. I always like it when I come across something like that to think over. Hopefully it can motivate at least a few people to push more toward where they really would rather be.
can you recommend any good books, vids, sites, etc for learning the bsics and how to train and get good at AW?? it seems like its simple, but i know from watchin espn showdowns that technique is more important than muscle power alone. also, is it the shoulder, cuff, or bicep that people "lock" to wear out an opponent?
Just spotted your dead 275 x 5 x 5. Nice. Drop in to my "jgreystoke facing life sentence!" workout journal. I'd really appreciate your comments/critique

Stay strong, Will
thanks for the advice champ. btw, I was looking at your stats, and I noticed that your forearms are almost as big as your biceps! They're huge! What kind of workout do you do for them?
hello man, im thinking of supplementing with beta alanine. is it like creatine that allows you to do that extra rep so in the end you get stronger? would the gains I get with beta alanine be significant?
ohh im kinda strong at arm wrestling but i been working out my arms alot and still im not able to beat my bro! so i was wondering if you can give me some exercises to get batter at it and maybe see me at a contest? lol i dont think that will happen but you never know!
