I returned to school to pursue my BS degree, once finished I went on for my MS. Now after six years of school work, family stuff and a full time job I was a lard ass. Plagued with a lower back problem I decided to start lifting weights (I figured my back is going to hurt either way so what the hell), and to my amazement in only three months my back issue is just about non existent. Now I am in the process of transforming my body into what I looked like when I graduated Marine Corp boot camp 20 years ago.
Why I Love It:
I like to feel the burn when I finish a set, it's a really good feeling knowing that you had an excellent workout. I like lifting because you can basically sculpt your body into something you want, keep an image in your head of what you want to look like and then work to obtain it.
How I Stay Motivated:
I realize that It took many years to get this out of shape and it will take a bit of time to get it back so to stay motivated I keep that visualization of what I want to look like in the back of my head. I hate to say it, but another way I stay motivated is just by taking a simple trip to the store, I always see that one person that looks like what I did before I started and I realize that is not something I plan to turn into again.
BB Accomplishments:
I don't have any yet. When I started I had a fairly big spare tire, and my upper body looked like a train wreck. In just 3 months the tire is almost gone, and most of my shirts have become quite tight due to the muscle that has been added. I don't want huge, but I do want to add more muscle to obtain the look I want.

My goal is to see 200lbs again. I started March 15 I was at 230. As of May 10th I am at 220. Once I get to 200lbs I will reevaluate myself to determine my next goal.
Mike has the dedication and motivation rarely seen. He has come a very long way and I seriously doubt he will call it quits any time soon. Keep up the work.
