How I Started:
I was always playing sports throughout school. I was always athletic and got into weight lifting my sophmore year of high school. I was probably in the best shape of my life before I had my third child. Then it all went downhill. I've been struggling ever since with my weight. I stopped smoking and that caused me to gain 15 lbs, which I have since lost, and a bad neck injury kept me from lifting for 5 months. I'm slowly getting back into the thick of things.
Why I Love It:
It's a great stress reducer. After I get through a great workout I feel like I've accomplished something and that I've made it past another hurdle. I really hate cardio, but it's a necessary evil. I've got to try and do more of it though.
How I Stay Motivated:
By realizing I can do so much better and can look and feel so much better. I have three kids and want to be healthy and strong for them. I also love when people say I don't look like I've had three kids. That really says I'm doing something right, cause it is so easy to let yourself go after having kids. I just want to look and feel the best I possibly can and sitting on my ass eating chips and ice cream is not going to do that.

Goal (Long):
I want to get back to where I once was. I want to be around 120 lbs with at least 18% BF. I want to be able to run harder and longer. I just want to be as healthy as I can.
My neck issues have calmed down thankfully on their own. I still have some pain here and there and stiffness, but overall that part is feeling a lot better. However, I was told I have arthritis. How severe and exactly what kind I have I'm not sure. I have to do further testing. All I know is...

You will improve as time goes on if you stay focused on your goals. What are you trying to accomplish other then looking, feeling, and being hot? From what I can tell your probably already there.
