I've always enjoyed working out and have done so since my early teenage years, yet for the first half of this year I neglected my dedication to my workouts in order to focus on other things. The routine workouts I've been doing in the meantime haven't been cutting it and after a few months of neglect and many tasty dinners, I slowly began noticing "volume" piling up (LOL!) So here I am, where I didn't think I would be, I don't have a huge amount of weight to shed YET I do need to tone. I have to be realistic and get on the ball again before I add any more damage or make it more difficult to get back in the shape I enjoy. Here I am, with more drive and focus. I'm intensifying my workouts to achieve my wanted results and if I can stick to it without any more breaks my results will sure fall into place.
Why I Love It:
I enjoy working out because I'm thrilled with the idea of not asking the silly question of: "do I look big in this outfit?" LOL! that is one annoying question! I also enjoy being able to treat myself to a tasty treat without having to worry about what I'll be piling on, I'm not crazy about making a salad my main course, it's nice to eat! Also, I don't want to worry about those treats weighing in on me, it won't happen because I'll be burning them off and using it as fuel :) YES! Oh and one more: I enjoy my clothes and fitting into them without feeling "bigger". It's an awesome feeling! :)
How I Stay Motivated:
My biggest motivator is my mirror and the ability to witness many amazing transformations through this site, it's a great inspiraton. Also the idea of improving my health, strength, and seeing the results of my hard work are added reminders that I need to maintain a well diciplined workout routine. Plus, working in an deadline-driven industry which makes me need to unwind with a good amount of silence where all I can hear is my heart beating or my music and filling my lungs with air while I work out is a major treat which I DONT take for granted :)
BB Accomplishments:
Major accomplishment so far...oh boy, I will have to say that being able to lean out despite the many meals I have with the man in my life who has made it a lifetime mission to build and maintain his physique is a huge challenge, many ladies out there know my pain...meals are constant and although they are mostly rich in nutrients- every nibble can add up if it's not backed up with a burning workout.

This was taken over a year ago, in much better shape than at my current starting point.
Woopdeedoo, nope, the universe is not bringing on all that muscle I envisioned LOL! Have to do more instead of only asking...right?! With a full time job and going to school this will take longer than anticipated, my dog behind me is even tired. Shucks!
WELL!! since cutting down to Heidi Klum's figure will be a MAJOR challenge (my B.F's dream! LOL!,can't blame the man for dreaming right?) I will have to resort to my long Term goal: to maintain a fit figure to keep up with the very fit man in my life, workout harder than before to obtain better results and never deal with the need of buying larger clothes due to lack of intense workouts. To stop blaming the camera for having added a few extra pounds to my pictures, or my clothes-dryer for having shrunk my clothes- yeah, these are the "denial excuses". The scoop: I need to re-gain the shape I've always been in and was slowly leaving behind- the one I've enjoyed and was confident with. And no, it's not that I lost control over my eating or that I'm lazy, for the past year I've confined myself to my reading dungeon (working on my dual-Major here) that I've neglected working out regularly. Now, after seeing the results of my neglect, I'm looking forward to getting back in shape, hope to gain even better results through education and helpful information from all of you who add your suggestions... and finally, after achieving my Summer fitness goal of not having to hide under a long pair of shorts all the time, I want to see continued physical improvement.
Goal: Early Morning workouts 4 Days a week of 30 minute boxing, 30 min. mix of upper body resistance training, & ab workout with an 8 LB medicine-ball for added resistance on balancing-ball.
Evening workouts: 3 days a week of GYM time: 10 min. warm up, 45 min of lower body weight...
Hey there...just wondering how your training was going so far this summer? I'm training for my first 5K at the end of August and that's going really well. How are things going for you?
