Background

When I Started: Mar 2011
HOW I STARTED:

I was ill last year. I almost lost my life and was just about doomed to being sick for the rest of my life but God gave me another chance to do this right. I will not settle for poor health it's all up to me and I know I can do this. So I joined a gym & bb.com, subscribed to Oxygen mag and Eat Clean. Invested in a few great fitness books and decided to educate myself and get in the best shape and health of my life then pay it forward. Life is to short and too fragile to half step. It's simply my time to get it together and live my best life.

WHY I LOVE IT:

I love the way I feel after I workout. I feel fresh and ready to face anything. It sets the tone for a healthy happy day no matter how many things may go wrong or just how crappy it may actually turn out to be. I know at least I did one thing right. I gave 100% in the Gym.

My Motivation Program

I set my goals on my bb.com site and It told me:

You must lose 0.31 lb (0.14 kg) per day to achieve your goal.

You must lose 2.14 lb (0.97 kg) per week to achieve your goal.

You must lose 9.18 lb (4.17 kg) per month to achieve your goal.

It's my mantra...I listen to "For whom the bells toll" and repeat this over and over to myself. It's my personalized get your **** together soundtrack.

Ready 4 Transformation

Initially I wanted to just dive right in and  thought Im going to simply blow through this Body by design program. But as I was charting my workouts and noticing how my clean eating affects me. I realized I really needed to learn how to lift with good form I also needed to plan meals better, plan everything better I realize that I needed to use a few weeks to slowly evolve into this new way of life and practice makes perfect. I feel much better about my form when lifting, I substituted a few exercises with machines until I build up my strength to be able to lift always w/ proper form. Im...

No Set Backs

I have had many obsticals get in the way this past week. I was derailed from training due to work I even missed meals. But I decided to keep moving forward and instead of allowing defeat I just decided that I will use this week as a trial run. I went through all the exercises for the Body By Design program and I used this past week as a an opportunity to get familiar with the weights and practice my form and try eating as clean as possible and I am happy I did because tomorrow I have a clean slate to start my 12 week transformation.  I have my work hours in order to allow for my Gym days...

Yesterday I went to the gym and I went throught the BBD program and I am realizing more than ever I have zero upper body strength I never have. In school I was really athletic I always broke records in the Physical education test but I was an epic fail at pull up. I have never been able to do pull ups and push up unless they are the ones on my knees arent any better.  I dont understand why? what the heck is the problem? Im going to work at developing upper body strength. I ate clean all day and I can just tell a huge differnce just by eatng clean meals. I am still a bit challenged this we...

4betterme Yes, there were times when I thought no one informed my kids that I would doing this transformation. I have a 4 yr old and a 1 yr old. On those days you do what you can. Keep at it and you be just fine. Mar 21, 2011 5:36am
