"Clean living my way to a better mind, body, and spirit.
Goals for short term are the same as my long term...why would they be different if you envision success?
To laugh more.
To lift more.
To learn more.
To love more.
To LIVE more."
I started working out after a bad basketball injury hurting my back after a dunk. I have since recovered and I still play often. I got the bug when I got in the gym and started moving up in weight after each return visit...it is addictive at the beginning because progress is SO rapid.
Why I Love It:
Life is a game of inches according to Al Pacino in Any Given Sunday. When I am at the gym I claw for that inch. For 2.5# more pounds on each side. For one more rep. To not fear a new exercise. This empowers you. Fear fades away. Accomplishment becomes a daily expectation. Over time there are changes in yourself that supercede the physical.
How I Stay Motivated:
It becomes part of you. Your indentity. At some point you stop dreading going to the gym and you actually are frustrated when you can't get there. I actually feel sad for people that ask me about TV shows I haven't seen...for them. They "wasted" life. I did not. I am maximizing what God gave me.
BB Accomplishments:
The first time I did curls with an EZ curl bar and 45 pound wheels on each side (many years ago...I do more now!)...it was an indescribable feeling. I felt I hit some unreachable point of strength and my training really got me somewhere. I was excited at that point to do curls to reaffirm this to myself and everyone else. I "belonged" in the gym now, I wasn't some hack just messing around with weights. Unless you have felt that feeling it may not make much sense to read.

Goal (Long):
Long term is to be healthy. I work on stretching, athletics (e.g. basketball), cardiovascular and weights.
I am not holding out to be happy with myself either until I hit some point or mark. I look at what I've accomplished in the gym, in my career, and with my body and I am proud of myself and feel blessed to be where I am at. I continue to push to improve, but I am never disappointed at where I am at NOW.
Today is here. Live for it. You'll never be disappointed in the long run if you give it your best. You'll have failures and successes, but if you give it your best...in the long run...you'll always succeed. You might need to recheck what you think success is though.
Do you know anything about a product called alpha-drol? I was told it was as close to andro sold today. It is made up of 19-noranddrosta 4, 9 diene 3, 17 dione. and 17a-methyl-etioallocholan-2-en e-17b-ol. Can you shed some light on this product. Thanks

Hey Shawn,
very sorry to hear about the loss in the family. I've gotta say the way you see things and how you're coping is an inspiration, at least to me. I wish you all the best.
