I was overweight as a child up until the age of 14. I was depressed, being 205 lbs. at 5'9 and 14 years old with no muscle. Yes I was fat.
I decided to make a change. To be better and stronger than those who would make fun of me for my weight became my passion. Soon the Iron and the swimming/running became my passion and I forgot all about the idiots who inspired me in the beginning.
Why I Love It:
The feeling of gaining a rep, or being able to hold an isometric position for longer than the last workout is unbeatable. Everyone loves to look in the mirror an know they are probably in the top 5% of the nation as far as health/appearance/athletisism/discipline.
I love being completely exhausted after a workout and then hopping in the shower. Then I fix up a delicous protein recovery meal, like penut-butter/protien powder/oatmeal/honey, all mixed up and served very cold. I'll take it and lay on the couch feeling clean, exhausted and hungry and enjoy myself while I watch tv for a little while.
How I Stay Motivated:
Recently I was somewhat depressed. I gained about 10 lbs. of fat and lost some strength/muscularity due to a back injury. During this time I drink alot of alcohol, ate like shit and had awkward sleeping patterns.
Now I'm feeling good and have found alternate ways to work my back without pain. Knowing that I will be better than I have ever been within 3 months of 100% discipline has me ampd.
BB Accomplishments:
Making the transformation from 205 lbs. of pure fat to a very solid 160 lbs. at the age of 15. I had NO help from anyone. I researched magazines, Arnold's Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding, ESPN aeorbic shows etc for hours a day. I learned and did everything on my own. All the time I was doing this people were doubting me the whole way. I pwnd everyone.
