Overall Goal: To be as strong and fit as humanly possible. To gain as much muscle on my frame with minimal body fat... Using a program from Stevep78 and so far, its real good :-)
Fit Status:
Back to the gym I go and it was great!!! Time to get CUT!
When I was about 7 years old, I used to see my father work out in the family room doing Pushups, sit ups, and jumping jacks to stay in shape. Old school workout. Ever since then, I was always fascinated with working out and staying in shape but could barely do any push ups so I gave up on it pretty quickly. I didn’t start weight training till I was a freshman in high school and realized that I was pretty weak… I maxed out the bar on flat bench press lol. Coupled with the fact that I was picked on for the majority of my grade/middle/high school life, I found a new passion in working out... and with that, I have dedicated most of my life to weight training, working out, and living a healthy life.
Why I Love It:
I love working out because it helps me change my body and de-stress my mind. Working out has changed my life in so many ways. The comments I receive from other when they see me out and can’t believe that I’ve gotten so much bigger. I enjoy the fact that I can bench press my weight now and when I see the big guys in the gym throwing around weight, I can compete with them on some levels. Also, being considered one of the bigger guys makes me feel great too and that is all due to my dedication to working out. I also enjoy being able to get in the face of any person that used to bully when I was young and ask them “what now?” and they have nothing to say. My confidence and self esteem are existent now because of working out. Girls wouldn’t even give me a second look when I was skinny. I was the same height, 6ft 4, but 145pds. Really skinny and even though I felt I was a great guy on the inside, the outside didn’t really show it because I was dieting/eating enough. So I began eating 8 meals a day, lifting heavy, and supplementation properly. I started this around 2006. Since then, I have completely fallen in love with working out and I have a hard time functioning if I even consider skipping the gym. I love the sound of weights being used, cardio machines running, Stairmasters pumping, music in my ipod, and the feel of callous in my hands from a hard day of lifting. Going from the little nerdy skinny kid to the nerdy big man makes me feel like a better person because I saw something that I wanted to change in my life and I did it.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by reminding myself where I started when I began this journey to better myself. How I was considered to be intelligent but weak. That I did not possess the strength to defend myself and lack the courage to talk to others because I felt that I was not good enough too. I would wear XXL or XL shirts because I was so tall that nothing would ever fit right and the larger sizes were long enough but so big that the clothes draped over me. Knowing that that XL and some XXL are tight on me feel just amazing. Also, looking in the mirror. Seeing where I was and where I am now. Knowing that I actually have muscles and somewhat define what it means to be in shape. Comments I receive from others every day also motivate me as well. I used to be the one that would tell people they look great or that I wish I could be as big as them. Now I get some of those comments. Also, being able to help others with their routines and also meal plans helps motivate me to eat clean as possible and try to keep up regularly with my cardio. Also, the looks I get from girls when I go out always helps a guy stay motivated in the gym lol. Considering I never was checked out before… it feels good to be noticed.

Goal (Long):
My goals:
Max out 2-3x my weight on flat bench
To live a healthy lifestyle.
To eat, live, drink, and breathe clean
To achieve and maintain a 7-10% BF (like when I was skinny and this was easy to do lol) but weigh around 220-230pds
To increase the size of my legs, arms, and decrease the size of waist
Run 3 miles in 18 mins
To have a body like a comic book character (Batman/Superman/etc.)lol - childhood dream
To have a body that I can admire/proud of and hopefully to inspire any children I may have in the future
To have 19-20 inch arms
Being average is something I have never been and do not want to be with my physique
Training has been good had a guy break my toe dropping a dbells (105lb) on it last week. but that doesnt stop nothing i did squats the next day.(lol) Yeah Bro I am sure u r doing great never stop man keep pushin!! Brickk
Thanks for the comments. You can do it either way, bro. I recommend just doing the drop sets to keep from overtraining, but if you feel you can handle it, go for it.
homeostasis is the body physiological process of creating normalcy in response to any chemical/physical anomalies (i.e. supplementation or weightlifting). This occurs even with aspirin. erego the need to cycle supplements, no matter the potency.
Not like I would prefer it to be. Kinda hit a blah time and haven't been sleeping very well for what seems like forever, so that isn't helping either. Bummed that my upper legs are not leaning out. It feels like liposuction maybe my only solution. Got any suggestions????
When it comes to the eliptical and treadmill, i don't use any of the programs. I just press quick start and put the level up to 11 currently. for the treadmill- QS, 3.0mph, and increase the incline grade to the max. no time wasted in pressing a bunch of buttons.
for the trib, I tripled the daily dose to 2.1g, 3capsule@3x/day. 6 weeks to 2months on/1mo. off is decent- u don't want a homeostasis effect to occur with the supplements.
'Ey Amar. I'm doing good. I've been committed to cardio since August and it's been good for me- 20 to 30 minutes on treadmill or eliptical after my workout, 4x/wk. I'm leaving the tribulus alone as of 2 weeks ago and will be back on in October. I'd say i'm cycling 2 months on, one off. Heavier stuff would be nicer but the USAPL has alot of restrictions
sorry to hear of the ups and downs. I'm having a few of those myself. Always something hurting everyday. I've been lifting more too since my kids went back to school, and get out running more. At the end of the day I'm beat. Thanks for the compliment...keep at it.
Hope you are reaching your goals. I want to share my passion with a larger audience and fire up Iron Man's cover. Please vote for me as often as you like at http://www.bodybuilding.com/20 10-bodyspace-spokesmodel-searc h-women.html
Hi Amar! Thanks. I have recently been trying to increase my intensity in the gym. Shorter weight sessions with more pointed concentration. I have been mixing up my heavy/low reps and lighter/high reps just to see what happens. If nothing else, the change feels good. I feel rejuvenated and I look forward to gym time!! Hopefully, the iron is treating you well. If not...SHOW IT WHO'S BOSS! LOL!
Amar345! Did you ever get the answers to the supplement questions you had??Even though I didn't have a clue there are so many knowledgeable people on this site. I'm also checking in to see if you've been eating that chicken! LOL!
