When I Started:
How I Started:
For as long as I can remember I've thought muscular physiques are beautiful. Wanting to be the best I can be, it's only fitting that I should work to gain muscle, myself.
When I was 11 I was the assistant tumbling instructor for a woman who lifted weights and had a gym connected to her house. I really admired her and thought she had the coolest situation a person could possibly be in. :) It was also around that time that I began reading bodybuilding magazines and watching movies and television shows with more muscular female body types represented.
It wasn't until more recent years that I had enough control over what I do with my time and what I eat to make much progress. I'd say I've been hard at it for 3-4 years. I've been fortunate that I've been learning about it since I was a kid, but there always seems to be more to learn and apply.
Why I Love It:
I love being able to appreciate my body for what it can do, not just for what it looks like.
My time at the gym always leaves me feeling as though I've accomplished something that day.
How I Stay Motivated:
Lifting is so much a part of what I do that "staying motivated" isn't an issue. I'd lose a huge part of my identity if I stopped. :)

Not a new pic but a convenient one...just gives an idea about where I'm coming from. I weighed 115-120 lbs in the pic on the left and 125 in the pic on the right (picking lavender). Don't know what my bf% is in either pic but although I weighed more, the waist of those shorts I'm wearing...
Kimm4 is one of the most motivational people I've come across on this site! She is an incredible source of information and obviously lives her own life in accordance with the advice she gives...creating a powerful, feminine physique in the process. As example of what can be accompished through intelligent nutrition choices and training, she also encourages balance and keeping this lifestyle enjoyable. Her acheivements drive me to do work smarter and harder toward my own goals. :)
Other than the obvious benefits (appearance, health, etc.), how has bodybuilding and fitness improved your overall life?
My moods are steady (not as anxious or impatient), I have steady energy throughout the day that isn't driven by stimulants, considering the effect certain actions will have on workouts or how I feel the next day encourages healthier habits all the time. Are you a parent?
Yes
How has bodybuilding and fitness helped you to be a better parent?
Fitness makes me a more calm, patient person.
My habits encourage my daughter to have healthy habits.
My experiment with the Anabolic Diet came to an abrupt halt on Sunday, September 21st. A bit over a week prior, I started not feeling well and quit looking forward to meals at all. Was "gumming" my food like a baby.
On the 17th, I made eggs for breakfast and could only eat a...
I might have to work as well. If I don't work, I'll be going to a bbq. Other than that I'll be training and doing some relaxing in the a/c. This heat is rediculous!!
Thank yo for the ad and the nice words.
I started competing in 2004. I learned a lot in that first year. The following 3 years is when I really improved. I'd like to do another show later this year or sometime next year. I'll have to play it by ear.
Hey Amanda! Just saw that you put me as an inspiration!?! I'm truly honored and flattered that you would call me "all muscle bound"! PERFECT! Thanks SOOOOOO much! Hope you have a wonderful 4th of July holiday! ~Brooke
