When I Started:
May, 2007
How I Started:
I attended a benefit dinner for ALS disease and purchased a certificate for three sessions with a PT in the silent auction. In the gym my progress became apparent fairly quickly and now I find myself an NPC figure competitor. Who knew?
Why I Love It:
I'm really interested in seeing the transformation in my physique. Weight training and a much better understanding of proper nutrition have benefited me more than I would have ever expected.
How I Stay Motivated:
Willpower and stamina are two of my best attributes. Mentally I am very strong, so if I know something has to be done and sacrifices need to be made then I can hang with anyone. I want to win a National level competition in my age category, not just be on stage. To do this I will have to get bigger, plain and simple.
BB Accomplishments:
Featured as a "Figure Athlete" on T-Nation.com and Figure Athlete.com
Kentucky Muscle & Figure Championships -Master's Figure 45+ - 3rd Place

I have always carefully watched what I ate, worked hard at my profession, and therefore do not have a story to tell of overcoming a huge weight gain.
In my profession, I have spent more than twenty years dealing with critically ill cardiac patients in a part of the country where healthy eating is nearly non-existent. I am determined that my family and I will not succumb to these ills due to lack of information. Proper nutrition and "clean-eating" have become my favorite reading subject.
I had never really been exposed to body sculpting or weight training to any real extent so all these years I had no idea what my potential actually was.
In my twenties I did some modeling on a local level, but a career, husband, and then kids were more important and took precedent.
Now it appears that I have the time and (according to my trainer and husband) the tools necessary to be competitive on the figure stage. I plan to give it my best shot and see what happens. I am having fun and learning a lot along the way.
Since this is a goals section, I suppose I will say I would like to win a competition on the National level. My husband wants to see me holding a Master's National Championship trophy for women over 45. Hey, if your goal setting, might as well aim high, right? :)
Hello virtual community! I have a question about an "issue" that has come about quite suddenly and I am hoping that some of you can offer a little insight about.
As my Bodyspace page mentions, I am an amatuer figure competitor currently training for shows this spring. I take...
Amanda, you look great. You've got the physique of someone 1/2 your age. Never too late to shoot for the stars. I got a late start also, but it's not slowing me down.
Best of luck in all your future goals.
What country are you from because I've never seen an 47 year old american look as good as you! Heck I don't know if I've seen any age girl with that stunning face, and body!!!!
