Kutztown Area Shs Attended 1999 to 2002 Kutztown, Pennsylvania United States
When I Started:
How I Started:
I grew up very athletic and had always participated in sports. I was an avid track and field and cross country athlete throughout high school and into college. At the age of 19, when I left the MU college cross country team, I began weight lifting for the first time. I instantly became addicted and have never looked back. I did my first figure show at age 20 (NABBA show). I took some time off, did my first NPC figure show in 2007 where I won the overall and qualified for nationals. Since then I've done North Americans twice, Team Universe once, and the Arnold Amateur.
Why I Love It:
For me, figure is about the art of self mastery, and that dedication manifests itself in all areas of my life. It's an extreme sport, and to be able to do what we do, you have to be able do dig deep within yourself and find out what you'e truly made of. Most people don't look deep enough inside themselves to realize that they have the power to create- to take it upon themselves to shape their reality. That's why I love this sport, because it gives me that power. Despite the negative opinions on women with muscle, or the derogatory commentary about the sport of competitive bodybuilding and figure- THIS SPORT is what has given me that level of confidence, my level of self control, and my discipline. I am ever grateful for it.
How I Stay Motivated:
In my own way I'd say that I am my biggest motivation- pushing myself and constantly breaking my boundaries is what continues to drive me. I always want to be better then my best. I also try to keep balance in my life so I don't overtrain or overwhelm myself- I enjoy my downtime and love to read, take a bath, or listen to music to de-stress and to regain my focus.
BB Accomplishments:
My favorite moment still, was winning the overall at the NPC Mountain Valley. That feeling of accomplishment was a high I never wanted to come down from.
I've only known Eryn a year- but her strength as a competitor and a woman inspire me every day. She's become one of my closest friends and allies in this industry. She's a firecracker, she's dedicated, she's hardworking, and she's got more emotional resilience in her fuking pinky then more people have in their whole being....she's diehard and she keeps me on track when I struggle. I love her to death.
