Why I Love It:
I absolutely love the challenge and the fact that I succeed or fail entirely based on my own efforts. The sport is continuous- you have to constantly focus and motivate yourself. I fell in love with weightlifting as soon as I picked up a dumbbell and that love affair continues today. I attack every workout with intensity and focus- I truly love to train.
How I Stay Motivated:
I motivate myself. I constantly want to be better then my best. I have a very competitve nature and I know what I'm capable of and I'm willing to do what needs to be done to push myself to the level I want to be at.
Outside of being very self motivated I'd say whenever I'm feeling REALLY lagging I watch Jenny Lynn's training DVD. She is my favorite competitor and a woman whose work ethic I truly admire. Her training and her focus motivates me to push myself.
BB Accomplishments:
2007 NPC Mountain Valley
First Place Figure C
Overall Figure Winner
Nationally qualified
IFBB North Americans 2008
Figure E
11th
My ultimate goals? They're lofty. My main focus is to be an IFBB Figure Pro and compete in both the Arnold and Olympia one day. I also would like to further my career as a fitness model. I'd love to be on the cover of Oxygen one day and hopefully inspire other women to train and empower themselves the way I have. I'd also love to own my own gym with a self run nutrition cafe attached.... ideally of course:)
Weight Goal:
Bodyfat Goal:
Upcoming Contest:
Eastern USAS Manhattan NY, Figure Nationals Atlanta Georgia
Why I like this video: Jenny Lynn has been my competitive inspiration and my leg workout is modeled similarly to her training with Charles Glass. I think this interview and workout are EXCELLENT examples of what women should consider trying if they are struggling with leg proportion, striation, and symmetry.
