When I Started:
Mar, 2008
How I Started:
My fiance' is a personal trainer and is really big on working out. When we first started our relationship I was very inactive and too shy to go to the gym. I only pt'd when I had to, and working out to me was running, crunches and maybe some pushup's. I am a Marine and incorprate working out atleast 3 times a week but never really considered lifting weights. I always thought lifting weights were for guys...but little did I know...Since I have been with my fiance' he stresses to me the importance of working out and the benefits that come with it. He has slowly been giving me pointers as I have started my journey and new life style! I am very greatful to have someone who cares for me so much and understands and can lead me in the right direction!
Why I Love It:
I never thought that working out would be so exciting or that I would look forward to it! On my off daysI feel good that I get to rest but I feel sloppy at the same time :( Even on days I'm not so up to going to the gym but go anyways it always makes me feel sooo much better! I love it!!
How I Stay Motivated:
I keep myself motivated by talking to my fiance' he inspires me with his dedication and pushes me to try harder. When we are around each other I want to show him that I care for my body just as much as he does. I want to teach myself that workingout will only benefit my body in the long run (especially when it's time for us to have our babies!) I want to raise our kids in an active lifestyle so they don't fall into the category of so many kids now days who have inactive life styles and are obese. But overall ERIC is MY motivation!
BB Accomplishments:
Triceps! I have broke past the barrier!! it's soo hard when your alone in the gym with no workout partner to push you and you think no one is watching to just not do that last rep...Well I told myself I would make them stronger, and you know what, I DID!!
I'm so proud of my progress! I have gained strength and shape in the past 4 months and couldn't be more proud of my focus and determination, Thank you Eric!!!
Goal (Long):
My new goal is to stop sloutchin!! I have such a bad habit of it...When I was little my folks use to always yell at me and my sister wheter we were sittin down or standin up you'd hear one of them, "Stand up Straight! roll your shoulders back!!". I came from a military upbringing so my dad was really big with that. The kids in school use to make fun of me cas when I was sit down I had really good posture. You know how kids are...Well I would sloutch to be like everyone else and try to take the attention of me...I really don't have the problem when I'm standing just when I'm sitting.
My 2nd goal is to cut out carbs AT NIGHT. I have a bad habit of over eating carbs with my dinner meal.
My goals in the gym....as for now I am trying to focus on doing slow, form perfecting moves in the gym. I am trying to get out of the "quantity" mode and focus on QUALITY, especially with my crunches, I think MORE is better...I'm really starting to feel that, that is a myth.
But besides that I have been doing pretty good with my consistancy. I go to the gym 5 to 6 days now out of the week, I have been drinking alot of water and eating my fruits and veggies! :) and YES lots of protein!!!
Thanks xrcise girl! My fiance' and I were just talking about that last night! He told me to increase my weights and not to do so many reps. I'm an over achiever. I don't like ppl around me to think they are out do'ing me or in who are in front of me. I guess that's why I joined the...
I have set up a method for writing up my workouts finally! Well I defintaly take the saying of "chaning it up" to heart. I compare my workout's weekly and try to make sure that everything for my upcoming week is completly diffrent from the week's before, i.e. what day's I do what...
hey hey, i have been good but i havent been able to workout at all! i know that is bad, but i just got back into town...I am glad to hear about your training u r doing so well.
Hey! Coming along pretty good finally coming together. Thanks for the add, I know it can be frustrating at times, but when you get there it's like gold.
Thanks Gayle! I've got 2 more workouts this week... then I get to spend the weekend with my hubby! Yeeeeaaahhhhh... and then it's ON - Pizza and Merlot. The best pre-contest prep food EVER! You have a great Thursday and wkend too. *smile*
First, I love your profile name!! Second, congrats on your upcoming marriage! Try clean and presses for awesome shoulder development...when I added those (in addition to the regular exercises!!)mine really rounded out!!
Thanks Girl! I eat really clean all-year round and 100% clean durin contest prep = this time, a couple of months and counting. I wasn't able to do ALL the exercise I wanted to do in 2007 because of re-habbing, so DIET has been my stronghold. *smile*
First, as a former paratrooper, Thanks for continueing the fight. Keep your head down and be safe. Keep up the work outs too, the benefits will come (as I try to get back on track myself).
It's great that you have Eric for support... but remember, ultimately, as much as you love him, you should do it for yourself. He will be there to root you on and you are lucky to have that kind of support. Cheers.
