As a generally healthy but not athletic teenager, I set a goal to change my fitness levels/body by high school graduation. Starting at 185lbs, I quickly realized how dramatically weight could be lost on a sound diet. I began designing customized diets for myself, and weight training frequently. Soon I dropped to 165lb and looked much fitter. However, I was stuck on the habit of dieting and eventually spiraled down to 125lbs. At that point, I was entering college and knew things had gone too far, so I began putting muscle back on. Gradually I built back some good size, and the rest is history.
Why I Love It:
You never run out of things to try, be it in training or nutrition. There's always the next workout.
How I Stay Motivated:
I prefer to motivate myself based on stages, whether it's weight, size, poundage at the gym, just having concrete numbers to shoot for and exceed.

I would like to focus my muscle gain primarily on my triceps, shoulders, and chest. These are the areas my genetics have their highest limitations, whereas my back and hamstrings stay very strong. I am aiming for a good, clean, healthy gain cycle.
Layne has an awesome attitude and approach to training and nutrition. He listens to his own body and makes adjustments accordingly, rather than following the exact advice of others. I've seen all of the "natural pro" videos, and he seems to train intensely. Not only that, he has an understanding of the science behind nutrition and biomechanics, which I greatly admire.
Just made some major changes to my diet and training. I'm trying to get down to a very low bodyfat even though it is the winter time. The main reason is that I want to test, for myself, if I can gain muscle just as quickly while keeping body at sub-10% levels as I had while gaining small...

Yea I see your pretty lean there. I plan on visiting some family in Arizona in a month or 2 for a couple weeks. That is my big planned vacation before the end of the year, haha.
