When I Started:
Jan, 2006
How I Started:
In 2001, a couple of years after High School in, I was diagnosed with epilepsy and took medication (drugs!) for it...as a result, I was depressed. After a couple of months into being diagnosed epilepic, I got fed up with always feeling tired, without energy, sleeping the whole day and feeling sorry for myself, I woke up one day and decided to go for a run. I then began training for the LA marathon. I completed the LA and San Francisco marathons (2001) and I was hooked on fitness--and I knew my body could accomplish anything I set my mind to!
In 2006, after a (3 year relationship) breakup I knew that the only person who truly cared about me, was ME. I decided to lift weights out and get back into fitness (it was also my way of coping with the break up). I started cleaning my diet and began to nurture and appreciate myself...
This is how I got into working out.
Why I Love It:
I feel powerful physically, mentally. It helps me grow as an individual and as a woman who is out to change the world. Believe it or not: when I work out I also get in touch with my spirituality! Working out is medicine for my heart and soul. Working out and mainting my body is a way of being grafetul for the blessings God has given me.
How I Stay Motivated:
The nature of my job requires me to have lots of energy and patience working with my community. In order for me to preach about HEALTH and obtaining a great quality of life to my community, I chose to practice it! My boyfriend is my greatest support! He encourages me to achieve the body of my dreams, belives I can change for the better, and always tells me how great I look ;-). I am subscribed to Oxygen Magazine; Bodybuilding.com.
BB Accomplishments:
In 2006 I spent 5 months (July-December) in Mexico City. When I arrived there I was 115lbs (but with not enough muscle). I came back to the states weighing 138 lbs! I am now down to 115 lbs and have mainting increased muscle!

I was on the right track to my 12-week execrise program to get ultimate results....3 weeks ago I had lots of school work that I needed to complete--the last day I worked out that week was a Tuesday, 10/27/09. That weekend I caught a cold and it all went down from there....I did not work...
Hey you're welcome Bea. We short folks have to stick together. :-) Sure wish I had your 28 yr old metabolism though......I might have abs.....LOL. Keep charging.
