My father was a competitive amateur bodybuilder in his youth. As a child I was always in awe of his strength and accomplishments. He has been my motivation since I was an young teenager. Arnold Schawzenegger has also been an inspiration for me, not only in bodybuilding, but as a icon of good work ethic.
Why I Love It:
When you are serious about bodybuilding, you wake up every single day a little bit bigger and a litle stronger than ever before in your entire life. This is the most addictive reality I have ever experienced. I truly wish everybody could share this feeling.
How I Stay Motivated:
I know there is always room for self improvement. Working out improves my quality of life and gives me energy and satisfaction like nothing else. When I see people in better shape than me it motivates me to work harder. The high I get from an intense workout is one of the best feelings in the world.
My weight used to fluctuate an lot when I was younger. At times I let myself get really chubby and unhealthy.
I learned by trying different ways of lifting and conditioning. Since I began my all-around fitness level has improved tremendously. As a result, now I lift weights heavily, do Yoga and Pilates, and also MMA training. This variety of training has kept me in great shape, functionally and cosmetically.
I would like to be 220 pounds with 8% body fat, and I know I can reach my goal within 3 years. I am in this game for the long term.
Im sure pilates in its pure form could work wonders, not the bastardised version 99% of people practice. I think it is useless because massage, self applied tissue work, sauan and other heat treatmens, as well as the correct excersise selction and ommition are much more useful than light isometric contractions for a bastardised fitness craze. I am no ignorant, the majotiy of my opinions go way against what most people believe.
