When I Started:
Aug, 2009
How I Started:
I started lifting weights mainly because I wanted to add size to my athletic frame. I was 17 when I took it up and it helped me perfrom better when it came to my martial arts training.
Why I Love It:
The first time I experience muscle gains was a year period from the age of 17-18 I gained 20 lbs without any supplements. After that I started using whey protein and but the time I was in 2nd year university I bulked up to 138.
I love the fact that my body is growing and repairing itself when given food and adequate rest. My lifts are increasing with every workout.
How I Stay Motivated:
What motivates me is the fact that since I started lifting weights since mid August I have put on 8 lbs which is basically 1 lb per week. I want to get up 150 which is a good weight for me who happens to be 5'7''.
BB Accomplishments:
Once i get to my goal of 150 lbs I will switch my training instead from lifting for mass to just strength. My training is for function and not for achieving huge bulk muscles.

For my squts I do 10-12reps because of the large muscle group and I want to shock them into growth and they're all heavy reps. I do a warm up set with 50% of the heaviest so if my heaviest is 225 I do 112 to start off then I just increase the weight.
For Bench press beofre I was doing 8-10 reps I I was fatiguing way too early and it was holding me back from benching over 95 lbs now I'm benching 125 since I reduced my reps to 8 and the sets are 4.For my squts I do 10-12reps because of the large muscle group and I want to shock them into growth and they're all heavy reps. Oh no! Remember the last time we talked, way back? I had the allergies and a cold which morphed into something worse and I needed antibiotics - just feeling better about a week now. I'm sorry to hear you are dealing with all of that :( and I hope it is better very soon for you. My weekend was hectic but lots of fun - I enjoy Halloween and the costume part of it. How was yours?
Thanks for the compliment & good wishes! I will try to do that, and factor in some good sleep too :) I have what I do on youtube under pixiedust3727. Take a look :) I may vary that depending on how hard I've worked them - you know how it is - if you are too sore - you need to rest them if you killed it vs. maintaining
Well, that's great that you are feeling stronger - you'll get back anything you lost. I am on the tail of of antibiotics - I was sick for a few weeks. I am back to training two days now, and am very happy to be back. So nice to hear from you :)
Thank you for the honor of first friend and first comment! Sorry for the delay in thanking you so much for the friendship invite, I appreciate it! I had food poisoning several months ago too! Best wishes for continued success with your training -Please feel free to drop by anytime, I enjoy following the progress of my friends and getting to know them a little better - have a good weekend! ~ Jen
