Growing up and in high school I was strictly a basketball player. Once my senior season ended I began running mile after mile in order to stay in shape. A buddy of mine got me interested in weights and supplements during my second year of college, and I haven't looked back since. I even dabbled in strongman for a short period of time, but am now focused purely on bodybuilding.
Why I Love It:
Without my training, I'd fall apart both physically and emotional. It keeps me balanced, on track, and positive.
How I Stay Motivated:
Hardcore heavy metal, Jay Cutler DVD's, and the memory of my fellow SHS alumni - Jesse Marunde.
I'm done with goals involving numbers. My goal is to look great and stay healthy. And if I can compete in a show by age 25 - then that's just a bonus for me.
How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
About a minute. Sometimes 90 seconds or two minutes if it's a powerlift or I'm going heavy.

How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
No more than 12. Sometimes I keep my reps high (12-12-10-10) and sometimes I'll go low (5x3, 8-7-6-5). It depends on the lift, the week, and how I feel.

Which pro bodybuilder/fitness/figure competitor has the ideal physique? Why?
Jay Cutler is the king, of course, but I think Phil Heath looks very athletic on stage.
I slept in until 10:30 today. It felt amazing to get that kind of solid sack time. I feel that my new 3 day on, 1 day off split will work beautifully. Plenty of workouts, plenty of rest. I just had to break the habit of basing everything on a Monday-Saturday system of thinking.
R, my entire body feels like death. Not quite death, but close. Yesterday was so intense; I look forward to seeing the gains the two of us will get from Strongman/lifting together.
