I'm still pretty new to this stuff, too, but I think as long as you're still getting enough calories you'll be ok. I still eat 5-7 meals a day, and that helps. (I don't go NO-carb...I always eat a good amount post-workout and some earlier in the day. I'm just careful about what kinds of carbs.) I stay away from sugar usually unless its in fruit (I always eat 3 small clementines prior to workout. Its a preference thing...I feel better.)

I dont compete in contests;just try to stay fit.I dont think a high metabolism is a bad thing, but thats my opinion.Just be sure to eat clean calories with a high metabolism, and you should be ok.All depends on what you're going for.People that go through true bulk cycles eat tons of carbs.Theyll get bigger, but they wont always look cut.I find a balance w/ the lower-carb route because I stay cut but still build some. Its a trade-off.For a year-long cut with no bulking puffiness,I like my diet.

my "secret" is just to keep a smart diet. Few carbs (with as much fiber as possible in those carbs), and tons of protein throughout the day to keep me building and burning calories (protein burns "hotter" in your body.) (always go for a liquid protein source post-workout.) Worry less about fat than carbs. You'll burn the fat easier in a carb-depleted state (ketosis). Its easy, but takes discipline.

My diet is tons of protien (220-240 grams/day...lots of chicken), 5-6 meals a day, and very little carbs unless its fiber or post-workout. I swear by Mission Whole Wheat Carb Balance tortillas...use them for wraps instead of sandwhiches. Pretty easy, but gets expensive.
