The backbone of this workout regimen is based on microcycling. Periodization is where after 4-6 weeks, you would go ahead and switch up your rep scheme (e.g. going heavy weight to light weight). Microcycling, on the otherhand, is where you change up the rep scheme every week. Each week does not go from heavy to light, then vice versa. Instead, starting from phase one week one, you start with light weights and gradually go to lower reps and higher weights. This will allow you to increase in size, strength, and prevent a plateau from occurring.
