When I Started:
Sep, 2006
How I Started:
I've been an athlete since grade school, when I started figure skating competitively. Then I transitioned to Ice Hockey, all the while taking up various dance classes, playing field hockey, running cross country, snowboarding, and playing tennis. Building and maintaining muscle is now essential to maintain that level of strength, endurance, and fitness as I grow older.
Why I Love It:
That adrenaline rush from lifting so much! The progress a person can make in muscle/body building is incredible. The results are amazing, train hard to look good!
How I Stay Motivated:
Personal goals... I usually set a future goal that I can work towards.. Plus, as people (Americans) grow older, the tendency is to lose all that youthfulness, the definition, that healthy aura. I don't, and won't let myself lose that aura.
BB Accomplishments:
Right now, there have been many personal achievements. From almost being wheel-chair bound from birth, to the college life, I feel like I've come a lonnng way! In the near future I would like to compete on stage and go as far as I can, because I realize that your own self is usually the only thing in your way if you allow it to be; therefore, no road blocks for me :)
the more you think about it, the more reasons you'll come up with not being able to accomplish your goals. put it all aside and just do it. dont let yourself get in the way!
To put it simply, 2 weeks of a set split routine, then 1 week of HIT- really intense tri-setting, pyramid sets, drop sets, lots of cable work. Then back to the set split routine at increased weight and/or sets. Cardio stays the same, usually about 5 days/week. I try to change it up a lot too,...
