My Workout Program
I do not use heavy weights.
At my age I get really sore elbows, sore knees, wrists etc in various joints trying to pump heavy iron.
But what I do use is the dumb-bells.
10-20 kilo weights.
I do all the basic exercises...and more.
Plenty of sets and plenty of reps.
5-10 sets per exercise and as many reps that I can handle per set (apart from the first set). Between 8-20 reps.
This programme works for me and gives me a real good pump.
Another tactic I use, from time to time, is to select a particular exercise, say bicep curls, along with a particular weight on the bumb-bells, and then commit myself to do 100 reps.
The first set is a warm-up.
After that I simply do as many reps per set that I can do until I have done 100 reps.
Sometimes it might take me 7 or 8 or 9 sets to get my 100 reps. But I get there.
