That's awesome! Seeing them in your gym had to get you pumped up. There are several guys in my gym getting ready for competitions too. I've been wanting to hit up a show here locally and see what it's all about as I've never been to one before.

Sounds like your training is going strong!Great work. I had a buddy I hadn't seen in a while tell me this weekend that I've put on mass. It's hard for me to tell at times cause I see myself everyday. That's was a great positive reinforcement for that I'm doing the right things. Little stuff like that keeps me motivated.

Just checking in to see how things are going and by your bodyblog posts it looks like yer doing great. Read your article on caffeine and I have been using that as a "supplement" for my workouts for a couple years now. Now I know a little better why it works so well.

It was aggravating to go through it but fortunately I wasn't hurt and my insurance company was awesome and took care of me and my bank gave me a great rate on a new car loan with no hassles at all. Even called back to make sue I was happy with everything. How's that for customer service!

Hi Carla. I really enjoy going to Gold's. There are all kinds of people in there for a variety of reasons, but what I notice most is people seem most sincere about their fitness. It has helped me to push myself harder seeing this and also my competitive edge says "I can be bigger and stronger than that guy over there!"

I was fine, just sore for a few hours. Some a-hole was speeding down the back street behind my work when I was backing out. Never had a chance to see him( limited visibility behind my shop). A guy that works next door said he thinks they were doin 50+ when they hit me.

I actually fell behind in my workouts for a couple weeks due to the fact I was without a car. Apparently someone didn't like the looks of the back of my car and decided to hit me at about 50 and see what it looked like afterwards. Insurance totaled it.

I definitely like Golds. It has a more intense atmosphere, not like a social club like some other gyms. It helps me to work harder and stay focused. Things are goin good. Managed to add on almost 10lb in a couple months by bumping up my calorie and carb intake. 20 more and I can start cutting down the bf.

I like free weights as they incorporate the stabilizer muscles too. Another reason is that I usually don't work out with anyone so it's easier to dump a dumbell if I need to than a barbell when I'm going for max weight.

What are you doing for your chest exercises? I try and hit mine from as many angles as possible so I do Flat benches, incline and decline benches, and flys either on bench or machine. Also, are you doing the same routine month after month? If so, you may have plateaued and need to mix it up a little.

Hey PaBuilder, thanks for the compliments. I originally wanted to do a competition last year and worked towards that, but my eating wasn't right and I never gained mass like I wanted to. Now I am working towards a very lean muscle building routine and diet so I can achieve results like members SuperMaine and thenaturalone to name a couple. My goal now is really to be in the best shape of my life for life.

Thanks! I'm doing heavy sets this month, then am changing it up next month. How's your training going? What's your next race? And to answer your question about the equipment I was using, I was using a 10MP Pentax with remote flash and 2 flash stands with umbrellas. I had to quit though as all my classes this semester are in the evenings. I was working at www.oldtimephotostudio.com. Check em out!

Thanks for the comments. Your looking in pretty good shape too, and doing a triathlon is awesome! I think most people tie food to emotions, and by denying eating with people or their food, they feelrejected. I have a friend who is a really good cook, except nothing she makes fits into my healthy eating diet. So when I turn down her food, I think she believes I am rejecting her friendship by rejecting her food. She's better about it now, but she is just one example of many instances.
