Coach Merle Moss taught the PE class I started my freshman year. He put the class to lifting weights. I credit him with giving me the physical condition to survive a motorcycle wreck in Aug. 1985.
Why I Love It:
Google, "Henry Rollins Iron".
How I Stay Motivated:
I just try to make working out a routine. If you can make your chosen area of fitness into a routine.... into a habit.. you are far more likely to succeed. Being a paraplegic, I have to get creative in the gym... I like that.
There are so many other motivators:
* Feeling of Accomplishment
* PR's
* Staying Healthy
* Better Sleep
* Anti - Aging
* Family history of heart disease
* Enjoy the challenge of Iron
Also, seeing guys at the gym slap 500+ pounds on the bench.... now that is a big barrel-o-motivation.
BB Accomplishments:
The only thing that is noteworthy in any way was making the Oct/Nov 1994 issue of MM2K magazine. I was in their new "Tales of Inspiration" section. This was after placing in the top 3% of their "Best Shape of Your Life" contest. It later went on to become "Body for Life". I did NOT win the cruise :(
I sucked. I had a good base back in 1994. Then I waffled around the past several years - in and out of the gym. New jobs, schedules, moving, finances, shoulder injury.... most excuses have been abused. I'm now working on "collecting my feces".
As of April '07, I'm up to 209lbs. A powerlifing gym, bulking diet and good ppl have helped me to grow.

Teens have the most growth potential and highest testosterone of their lives. Don't waste it cutting and looking at your abs.
The wreck almost killed me, multiple infections kept a fever running for about 6 weeks and them pulmonary emboli almost killed me. After being in rehab 2 weeks and getting back some lean mass, I was still 60 lbs pounds down at around 6'1" and 90lbs. This pic was taken about 6 months after...
Why I like this video: Westside Style meets Olympic Lifting. http://www.elitefts.com/documents/westsi de_meets_olifting.htm
Travis decided to make a comeback in Olympic lifting at the age of 33, which most Olympic lifting “experts” say is impossible. Now that is bad-ass.
He has elite status in the 198, 220 and 242 pound weight classes. His best lifts include a 970 squat, 705 bench press and an 804 deadlift; all done in the 220lbs class. He made history at the 2004 GNC Show of Strength by totaling 2414.
