What 4dojo is up to

4dojo created a new BodyBlog entry "Only one more step (Bench Press)".

Early this year, it was my personal goal to reach a bench press of 200, though I thought that even 170 would be an achievement. This morning I prayed for extra strength, and My bench press increased to 195. Only one more increase, and my goals for benching will have been met. Can't wait to set new goals. My cup is overflowing.

Pound for pound one of the strongest people I know! His chins and pullups are unreal. 4dojo has been through some medical issues and has come out stronger for it. He is always supportive and helps inspire me to push myself harder in the gym. I just wish I could progress as fast as he does. I am truly impressed by his strength gains. And beyond that, he is a fine human being - I am sure Go...

Bench Press Update

Posted in Working Out  :  May 03, 2012 4:19am
It's been an incredible adventure. Not even a year ago my testosterone dropped down to medically unacceptable levels, and I could barely move 150 pounds anymore. But God is good. My hormones are normal again, and God is returning strength seven fold. Today it was 190 pounds on the bench press, and soon it will be 200 and beyond. Thanks to anyone who reads this.

Post-Workout Supplement update

Posted in Working Out  :  Apr 04, 2012 10:26am

1.) Proteins - only unflavored whey and casein protein powders and L Glutatimine pills. No more simple carbs, sucralose or stevia.

2.) Carbohydrates - The shakes can still be flavored with the complex carbohydrates found in cinnamon and maybe a little wheat flour

3.) Dietary fats - krill and flax oil pills, to ensure the presence of both plant and animal omega 3s.

StressMonkey LOL, I didn't. In the first sentence I mentioned who figured it out. :) May 15, 2012 8:57am

DocHoss Nah, I don't think I really put on 5lbs of muscle, but the compliment felt great. But I think I am getting bigger. Slowly, but I'm hoping that I'm finally filling out where the fat was and will start to actually put on a little size. As for YOU, you need a gym that is more challenging! You're too strong for PF - time to move on to bigger and bette things. May 6, 2012 10:20am
DocHoss
DocHoss Hah, no way! At Gold's it went up to 280, so I wasn't even close. At my home gym I struggled with 170 today - it felt like 200 Puerto Rican pounds! Funny how the same nominal weight on machines can be so different. But a bigger and much stronger I know said I looked bigger and than when he last saw me - he thinks I put on 5-7 lbs of muscle. Made my day! May 4, 2012 10:13pm
DocHoss
DocHoss Thanks - I haven't updated bench since I've just haven't been able to really bench with my shoulder. But I may try today. I have managed 200 on the fly and a bit more on the iso-wide. Stats for squat, DL, and BB row are new - I only learned those in January. May 4, 2012 8:18am

DocHoss Bench is steadily going up - great progress! Keep it up - you're doing great May 3, 2012 8:31am

DocHoss Thanks! I try to remind myself that slow progress is still progress and not to compare myself to others who are going much faster than me. It took me 30 years to start - no way am I gonna quit!! Apr 23, 2012 5:41pm
Sahan94
Sahan94 you too ;) Apr 23, 2012 8:33am

DocHoss Making progress on the bench I see - keep it up! You're really getting strong. Thanks also for the blog comments. I'm not progressing as fast as most guys here, but I keep plugging away and little by little (key word: little) do advance! Apr 19, 2012 7:41am

DocHoss It is in Puerto Rico! Not only Easter Sunday, but Good Friday as well. EVERYTHING was closed on Friday (except in the tourist center). Rio Piedras was a complete ghost town. I'll post a couple of pics in my blog tomorrow when I'm back at the office - internet at the apartment is even slower than my BB progress! Apr 8, 2012 6:40am

DocHoss I am so impressed by your progress, and your chins, pull-ups, and push-ups are just incredible. I doubt anyone else here can come close I struggle with 10 chins (and then usually develop tendonitis). You must have some alien muscle fibers at work! Just don't forget to work your legs - they are so important! Keep up the fantastic work! Apr 6, 2012 7:37pm

DocHoss Hey, sorry for the delay - was out of town. Your professor sounds like an awesome guy and a huge inspiration. I can only hope to bench that much some day. I'm sure that strength helps with the fight against cancer! Best wishes to him. p.s. have you maxed out all the machines yet? Mar 28, 2012 3:38pm
amaral5
amaral5 Hey Brendon, great to hear from you, bro! I've been doing OK, getting great workouts, been going hard & heavy past few weeks, got more cardio in as well. Only thing is working lots of hours lately is definitely taking its toll on me. Really tired, so planning on taking next week off from lifting. How about you, buddy? Latest pics look great; nice progress on your arms! Mar 27, 2012 9:10am
