I had just reported to my first submarine, and was drinking pretty regularly. Beer bellies seemed to be standard issue, and one of the guys pointed out a couple of choice ones, telling me that I would be like that in about a year. The next week I was in the base gym. I have been hooked ever since.
Why I Love It:
I enjoy the isolation and the sense of accomplishment, both with the weights and with the results. And i am starting to dig using my body as a walking chemistry experiment.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing results, keeping a workout log, trying different exercises, smiling inside when someone tells me how much better I am looking.
BB Accomplishments:
Bulking up to 280lbs like an idiot, then dropping down to 230 with more sense. Hopefully I will hit 240 by the end of the year.

Increase lean muscle mass by 10lbs while dumping this donut.
Goal (Long):
Like many of us, I had a great body until I hit 35 and my metabolism crashed. I also got married at 35 and fell off of the fitness wagon for a couple of years. And so, in an attempt to regain part of my youth, and to be able to teach my son any sport that plays, I need to get back into shape. Over the past year I have dropped 50lbs and kept quite a bit of len mass. Now I need to continue to lose the fat and increase muscle mass.
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 10 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
9%

Skipped all but the CLA and the regular diatery supplements yesterday. It is harder for me to stay on schedule when I am at home than at the office. Today, I am back on my workout supp stack, and everything is going great. Took measurements yesterday and will compare in about 4 weeks or when...
I have two herniated discs in my lower back which limit the power exercises that I can do, and limited equipment in my home gym. Since I have lost so much strength, I am returning to a somewhat power workout to try and jump-start my development.
