When I Started:
Jun, 2009
How I Started:
Let me just be honest and say that I screwed up! I had wanted to do bodybuilding for a really long time, but my effort and discipline wasn't great enough. One reason I failed was that I tried to do this all on my own. I needed help with my diet and workout routines. I couldn't get my daily calorie intake right. I wanted to be in the best shape of my life but needed someone to help me correct my mistakes and hold me accountable. So I decided to get a personal trainer. I had my first session on June 17, 2009. Man, was it tough! I've never worked so hard in all my life! I signed up for one year of 6 sessions per month, so by June of 2010 or so, I should start to really look good.
Why I Love It:
I feel better and have more energy. Bodybuilding helps you look and feel young for your age. Even a guy my age can add some muscle! It helps you become a more disciplined person in all areas of your life.
How I Stay Motivated:
I'm a Christian and faith in God is what keeps me strong. I could not get through a single day without guidance from the Bible and the Lord. My relationship with Christ makes life worth living for me. I had made a big mistake by allowing my weight to get out of control.
In June of 2009 I realized that I wasn't making much progress. I needed people who would help me with sticking to a disciplined workout and dieting regimen. I decided what I needed was to hire a personal trainer. Let me just say, it is totally worth the money spent! My trainer's name is Steve also. Steve does a fantastic job at training. He is a great guy who is tough as nails about training. He holds me accountable for every aspect of my bodybuilding goals. There are other people who help me, too. Some are at my gym, and some are on the internet. The help and encouragement of others can definitely make a difference.

I was really having trouble managing my bodybuilding and fitness goals. I couldn't seem to stay on track. Plus, I endured three and a half months of unemployment earlier this year. The good news is, I finally got a job about 80 miles away from my hometown. I like this job much better than the...
My personal trainer Steve is going to have me changing my workouts every so often. Right now I am training with him two days a week, alternating between upper body and lower body. The other two days training regimen is weights by myself, plus cardio. I will add more information later.
