Goal (Long): I decided to lose weight in 2005 after topping the scales at 217lbs. I was wearing a size 16 and I thought I was pretty content. However, I moved to Atlanta and we were celebrating and someone took a picture of my girlfriend and me. I am usually the one taking pictures and never in front of the camera. I saw the photographs a couple of months later and was appalled. I then started losing weight January 5, 2005. I tried everything from new gadgets, cabbage soup, South Beach, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, everything...I then decided to dump all of that and just eat healthy and exercise. Finally the pounds dropped and the weight stayed off. As I started working out harder, I wanted to find harder workouts through magazines and stumbled upon Oxygen. As I was looking through, I started to admire the physiques of the woman in the back and started to think, "I can look like that!" So I started training out of Oxygen. My fiancé had repeated over and over that I could do it and I would never listen to him. But someone saw me in the gym one day last year and asked me if I was training for a competition. I told her no, and that she encouraged me to look into it because she thought I was already half way there. So, I did and found a Pro Figure Competitor and trainer and off I went. I started in October 2007 at 169 lbs and aimed for a show in March 2008. The show was just last weekend and I was awarded 2nd in Tall Open and 4th in the Novice Division. Each class had over 15 competitors and I was pleased with the results.....BUT it wasn't 1st. I was not satisfied with 2nd nor 4th. So, now my NEW GOAL: Compete and place 1st in a competition in 2008!
