Overall Goal: As we approach the 4th of July AKA Independence Day, let us take a moment to recognize, honor and thank the members of the armed forces. My goal is to build a stronger body and become a better person physically, mentally, and spiritually.

When I Started:
Mar, 2003
How I Started:
In 01/2003, I thought I was having a heart attack. After all the testing, it was a false alarm. However, I made a decision to start improving my health by eating clean and working out.
Why I Love It:
I feel better; I reduce the risk of having a heart attack. Lower my blood pressure and cholesterol. In 2006, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) and scoliosis (2008). In order to maintain a healthy lifestyle, I must continue to workout, i.e., lifting weights, stretching, tae kwon do, hap ki do.
How I Stay Motivated:
Having a positive attitude, especially when I am not feeling my best. Surround myself with positive people. I am motivated by the success of others. JUST DO IT! Love that phrase. Because I have MS, does not mean that I can't do something (BE ALL THAT I CAN BE).
Endurance is the crowning quality, and patience all the passion of great hearts. -James Russell Lowell

As we approach the 4th of July AKA Independence Day, let us take a moment to recognize, honor and thank the members of the armed forces. My goal is to build a stronger body and become a better person physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Goal (Long):
My fitness goal is to lose 94 pounds of fat within one year and keep the muscle that I currently have. I had a temporary setback, and that's okay. Our health is extremely important, and I am working hard to maintain mine. Every ounce of encouragement helps; I found this great quote, "Build your muscles and your faith, and watch them both grow stronger." I like it, and it is my screen saver. I would like to be 175 pounds, with 10% bodyfat. I know with full dedication I can do this in the next 12 months.
This guy is truly an inspiration to us all. His dedication toward health and fitness is a power truly driven and given by a higher power. He motivates me train harder.
His testimony is truly encouraging. He is an overcomer and a conqueror. His transformation is molded by dedication, diligence, faith, and perseverance. You are an inspiration and a reminder that nothing last forever, and if we put forth good works, we will enjoy the fruit of our labor.
How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
30 second, then I move on. Also, I am not hogging the equipement and preventing or slowing down other people workout.

How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
High reps; low weights. With MS, fatigue may sit-in quick. If you push yourself too hard, the next day you are wipe out and literally can't move. I use free weight with the assistance of the Hammer Stregth machines. In order to get a complete workout, I perform high reps with low weights.
