When I Started:
How I Started:
I was about 16 when I bought my first weight set. Later I had a coach, but he had a history in power lifting and wanted to mentor me in strength training, but I was more interested in building muscle mass fast. Anyway, I was in one power lifting competition and won. Then I moved away and have kept up with training (my way) ever since then. I was really skinny as a kid...weighed about 102 in my late teens, but I worked out regularly, drank a quart of milk every day and put on muscle.....Then later on somehow I ate too much and put on a lot of fat too...so I had muscle & fat....(I know what it's like to be at both ends. The skinny end and the heavy end)...a year or so ago I decided I wanted my ab muscles to show, so I cranked up my intensity, started working my abs out (which I never stuck with doing before) and cut back on my fat intake. I lost 30 Lbs and am seeing my abs come through. It's a lot of work, but it's cool to finally see my abs. I'm not all there yet, but it's gettin there.
Why I Love It:
I've always liked working out because it gives you something that most people don't have. It takes work to build muscle and most people won't do what it takes. In fact, probably most who start don't keep at it very long.
How I Stay Motivated:
Does anyone know what happens when you've worked out for years and then quit? Do you like get "man boobs"?...well, I wouldn't want to find out from that ever happening to me, so that alone would keep me motivated.
Working out is just a part of what I do. Like eating or sleeping.
BB Accomplishments:
bb.com has been a BIG help to me in accomplishing my goal with my abs. This is where I learned that you've gotta get your BF% down in addition to working out. I've gotten a lot of helpful tips from guys on bb.com. I don't know if I would've gotten it right without them. I had a nutritionist do my BF% and told me I was doing really good and that 14% was pretty lean....then I saw a lot of guys on bb.com who were like way less and it gave me another goal to try to reach. Gettin "ripped"!

You can keep going a lot longer than you think you can...so don't stop where you think...go 'till you can't.
My goal is to have the least body fat as possible, while still building muscle.
Goal (Long):
My goal is to have the least body fat as possible, while still building muscle. I'm going for the more lean & cut look. Bulk on top, though, for sure. Really working hard on my abs right now. First time ever. It's been about a year and I've chisled out good definition and curves around the sides of my abs and under my rib cage, but I'm struggling some with getting that "six pack" look from the front view. I'm starting to see it coming though. I've really been watching my fat intake closely too. I mostly watch the fat calories in what I eat and keep them low and it's worked out well.

Thanks man i've really been gettin after it plus it's gettin hot hear in indiana so it's easier to melt that extra little bit of fat off hope your doin good man keep pushin
HI protein Food! I dont like taking a lot of sups like protein shakes. Id take a whey after i workout and a casein shake b4 i went to bed. but id just eat like eggs in the morning with fruit , then like tuna, steak, chicken, throughout the day with like brocolli, carrots, salads, tomatoes, your gonna lose some muscle mass in the process but the more protein you take in the less you'll lose.
Yea man for me i just stayed away from the obvious stuff. Such as breads, cerals etc. And had like a diet high high in protein, veggies and fruit. In no time dropped my bf% to 3%. Its tough cuz you wont have any energy, so i took a caffeine product b4 i lifted, which helps even more in burning fat
hey man...thanks for checking in. yeah, I've made some progress in the last month...need to take some updated pics...it's been about a month since I updated progress pics. how's your training?
