Background
I was diagnosed with Osteo-Arthritis in February, 2007. Bodybuilding keeps the O-A symptoms (inflamation) in check.
I like to see results; and bodybuilding really changes my body image in a positive way.

I am also doing 60 minutes of cardios (upright cycle) doing HIIT at 10 and 20 levels of resistance; 35 minutues a.m. and 25 minutes p.m. I'm doing this 5-6 days a week. I try to give the cardio workouts 150% effort. Once in a while I'll do 50 minutes just to kick my a__ a little more.
I end my workouts with an extremely hot sauna. Ahhhhh.
Periodically, I schedule a 1/2 hour "therapeutic" massage targeting any sore area or trouble spot--where I might feel particularly tight or tender.

Shoulder Surgery
Posted in Other : Mar 02, 2012 7:22pmOk. I just met with my Orthopaedic doctor about my shoulder pain. I've got Osteo-ARthritis, bone spurs in the joint, and an inflamed long biceps tendon. So, surgery will release the long biceps tendon which means it will be cut which will stop the inflamation. I'm trying not to be freaked out imagining how painful this is all going to be when it's done. Has anyone had this type of surgery? There will be three small incisions, and I'll be under a local and a general a

Posted in Nutrition : Jan 09, 2011 6:04amOk, I am wrapping up week 2 on the Transformation Challenge, and noticed a few interesting things. First of all, I am continuing to loose weight, almost a pound a day. I have been keeping my calorie deficit to around 800-1,000 calories a day, with a daily intake of about 1,200-1,400 calories. I'm feeling really excited about this progress, as I have not experienced any crazy hunger pangs or nighttime cravings as I have done in the past. The Bodybugg also helps me keep accurate track of intak-and caloric output. This really helps me be accountable--what dieting is all about! Being accountabl

Posted in Nutrition : Jan 04, 2011 8:06amOk, weighed in at 178.6 this morning which is pretty satisfying. The diet, cardio, and weight program seems to be coming together for me--finally. Following Chris Gethin's diet to the letter. The amazing thing is that I haven't had those bad nighttime cravings and crazy hunger. My last meal before going to bed is 4 oz. of chicken. That seems to do it--fills me up pretty good. The only thing I've added once in a while is a helping of Activia Light Yogurt.
So what do I think is making the difference? Well, I've eliminated peanut/almond butter completely from my diet. No dairy pr
