First off, let me say this. I don't care what body type you were born with. You can ALWAYS change your body to exactly how you want it. It just takes a lot of hard work and dedication. NEVER think that it's impossible. I used to think like that when I was in high school. I was 6'1" and weighed 135 lbs. My brother was super skinny and so was my dad when he was young. I thought it was impossible for me to gain muscle. My self esteem was soo low and I hated my body. But then I learned that nothing is impossible when we set out to accomplish a goal and really put our mind and willpower into it. We can accomplish ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. I originally did not want to start working out. Back in high school, I didn't know anything about bodybuilding. I thought it was impossible to gain muscle because my dad and brother were both skinny also, and so I thought it was just my genetics to stay little. Then I joined the Air Force and got even skinnier after basic training. haha It sucked. In 2003, I got deployed to a tiny island named Diego Garcia in the middle of the Indian Ocean. The only activities to do was work, eat, sleep, swim, drink, and workout in the little gym they had. I did all except the last. About two to three weeks into the deployment, my buddies started trying to get me to go to the gym with them. I was resistant at first because I was embarrassed because they were already pretty muscular and I didn't want to feel like a weakling in front of them. They finally convinced me. I immediately started getting results and by the end of the six months I was stronger than most of them. From then on I've been hooked, and the rest as they say, is history.
Why I Love It:
I LOVE the attention and compliments. I love the feeling of accomplishment. Also, I continually strive to improve every aspect of my life, physical fitness and appearance being one of them. Bodybuilding is a means to an end.
How I Stay Motivated:
I want to be a fitness model. I love being the best at what I set out to do. I constantly have a goal in mind and I strive to achieve it no matter what. It's always been really easy for me to stick with the workouts and diet. It has just come natural. The urge to improve my body has always been stronger than the urge to cheat.

Goal (Long):
Perfect my body to eventually try some fitness modeling.
Other than the obvious benefits (appearance, health, etc.), how has bodybuilding and fitness improved your overall life?
It has improved my life dramatically. It has changed the way I view life. It has taught me how to be strong and how to stick with something even if its not fun or enjoyable. It has taught me how to persevere even when something is tough. It has taught me how to improve weak areas in my life just like I would improve weak points on my body. Basically it has built up mental toughness in me and shown me I can accomplish anything I put my mind to.It has improved my life dramatically. It has changed the way I view life. I just found out from a guy I used to work with at the gym that everyone there would always talk crap about me. I thought we were all cool. I'm still friendly with all them because I still workout there. I guess they would talk crap because I was skinnier than them. Freakin idiots... I...
Thank you sweetie! That really helps cuz lately haven't felt much progress coming along lately : ( I needa make time for a little more cardio. You're lookin good as always!
Hey James, just wanna say- I just checked out ur progress pix, and my jaw was practically on the floor... unbelievable turn-around in ur physique. Major respect for having such dedication!
(Part two lol) My only rule for that is if for example one day I eat more foods with high fat content I reduce the amount of carb intake and vice versa. And if I had a feast (in our culture and the western one we have several big celebrations a year) I try and eat lighter on the days before and after the event ...the carb cycle sounds like a killer for a carb lover hahah ...thanks for the advice, will def review my habbits /plans xxx
Hey James sorry about the inbox thing!
Yeah diet and exercise is key, but lately my diet is all over the place. I eat very healthily (lots of veg and fruit) but I have no restrictions on carbs.
