How I Started:
I took an interest in bodybuilding years back in my youth as far back as 1993 or so. I thought that if I looked like the women in the magazine, I could get a boyfriend and thus validate myself to the world.
I started a whole body revolution when my boyfriend proposed to me. I vowed that I would NOT get married then get fat, dumpy and ugly and dispirited.
Why I Love It:
... the way I look and feel, esp. the way I feel. It gets me supercharged to enjoy my life even with it's many bumps and challenges.
How I Stay Motivated:
working out in front of a mirror :-)
working in a nursing home
having a list of goals before me that require fitness to achieve them

Goal (Long):
I am ageless in spirit. I want to heal myself of fibroids, hiatal hernia by weightloss and being active. I want to lose fat and shape my body into what it is supposed to be.
This year has been the most challenging year of my life. I managed to graduate nursing school all the while supporting my family and helping my mom with cancer. My body has taken a toll and lots of goals and hopes went by the wayside.
Now that I've graduated school it really is time to take care of ME starting with resting and relaxing with my mother in Trinidad for 2 1/2 weeks.
I want to be ten pounds lighter and leaner by the spring. It is realistic goal considering my body frame and how I tend to stay the same weight. Somehow I envision myself running and biking in the springtime as soon as it gets warm here and the trail thaws out.
I want to conquer the 'feast or famine' eating I've been doing lately. Part of that problem has already been solved. I am out of school and thus able more money.

I saw a pic of myself when I was 23 and I look the exact same now. I've not aged at all. Okay one thing that bothers me is the weird crepitude I got going on my neck from looking down at the MAR at work. Anyway, I've been inspired by one person on the Biggest Loser (I believe it's fixed btw!)...
