When I Started:
Aug, 2007
How I Started:
I took an interest in bodybuilding years back in my youth as far back as 1993 or so. I thought that if I looked like the women in the magazine, I could get a boyfriend and thus validate myself to the world.
I started a whole body revolution when my boyfriend proposed to me. I vowed that I would NOT get married then get fat, dumpy and ugly and dispirited.
Why I Love It:
... the way I look and feel, esp. the way I feel. It gets me supercharged for my job as a nurse aide.
How I Stay Motivated:
working out in front of a mirror :-)
working in a nursing home
having a list of goals before me that require fitness to achieve them
BB Accomplishments:
seeing my upper body get into shape

Run my second Long Island Marathon, graduate nursing school looking like someone who is qualified to dispense health advice, be the weight I was in middle school for my 35th trip around the sun
Goal (Long):
Age is just a number and right now I feel like a teenager. I want to spend this year loving myself and convincing my body this isn't just another weighht loss trick to attract guys out of poor self esteem.
I'm thrilled I'm losing weight again. I've begun to eat very small meals about every three hours at the advice of my doctor. It made sense. She told me I had a hiatal hernia and that stress and weight gain would give a person a hiatal hernia. I did my research and I don't think weight lifting...
I am just dropping by to wish you the best of the season and in hopes that your training and progress is going well.
I look forward to watching, hearing or writing to you in the New Year and finding out just how fantastic things are going.
Remember, if there is ever anything that I can do to be of assistance feel free to give me a yell as we can all use an extra person or two in our corner from time to time.
Stay strong and focused.
Just stopping by to see how things are going. Im starting to go to the gym twice a day, sense I never know when I have to go play army. The diet is coming along good. I just moved into our trailers so once I get my kitchen together I can hit the diet as hard as I hit the gym. What’s up with u?
Saw your goal og coing 85% raw: have you heard of victoria Boutenko? she got her family to go raw because they all had serious ailments.
Her website is rawfamily.com I heard one of speeches today so I thought I'd share :)
Your goals are good ones and I wish you much success at realising them. Keep pushing yourself to be the best that you can be and you will be amazed at what you can achieve.I look forward to watching your progress.
good luck in your run ... I have ran 3 1/2 marathons and my goal is to do a full I know you will make it once you cross the finish line there is no better sense of accomplishment...
Hi! Enjoyed your blogs, good luck at your marathon, when is it? I have my first half marathon coming up in Nashville April 28th. I liked to hear you are a vegetarian and into healthy foods! :) Good luck!
Good luck with your running! Marathons are a blast and the training is lots of fun; be sure to enjoy it. Great idea to eat mostly raw; I'm also transitioning to a more raw, whole-foods diet. Good luck!
