How I Started:
I began before the accident but was never very serious about it. Starting back up has been basically life or death.. in a sense that I'd be bedbound right now if not for bodybuilding.
Why I Love It:
Simply the way it makes me feel.
How I Stay Motivated:
Noticing small changes every day motivate me. If I am doing well, I want to push harder! If I'm doing poorly, I need to push harder!

Goal (Long):
Since joining this site quite a while ago, I was in a catastrophic motor vehicle accident and I'm paralyzed from the waist down. I had to basically start over from the beginning. I woke up several weeks after the accident happened, in a hospital bed and skinny as a rail. I had lost over 20lbs of muscle but with a LOT of hard work (I even had to learn how to sit up again) I look around the same as I did before the accident. My goal is to be leaner, faster, and STRONGER than ever before. I've come this far, I can go farther! I want to be my best! Reduced mobility has given me the need to be stronger than before.. physically and especially emotionally!

What does it mean to start something new? I assume it means something slightly different to each of us. Leaving part of you behind in hope of sculpting something new. What if instead of leaving something behind, we change it to make it something better?
I've struggled with eating disorders...
